U19 – come up against a really strong team in north city & got jumped from the get go. But to the girls credit, they fought back valiantly & had a good second half. Taylah settee, ash mcgee & Erin Surkitt all had great games. B grade – a 15 goal win after a slow start. However the Colahan sisters steps up the defensive pressure, which filtered right down the court. Danah Burrows had a great game in goal attack, feeding beautifully to Lisa Summers, who snared 23 goals for the game. The win has the girls sitting 2 points clear in second spot. A Reserve – these girls are in red hot form at the moment, securing a 26 goal win. Lauren gilchrist has added a extra dimension to the defensive line combining beautifully with Suzy Johnson. Kelly Wood had a cracker, along with Courtney Bryant. The girls are currently in 4 spot with the top 4 only separated by 4 points. A grade – a 22 goal win to celebrate Hayley Mackie’s 200th game for the Sunbury FNC – & what a great game she had, dominating the midcourt. Our speed was amazing & the opposition just couldn’t match that pace. With Sophie Gunn absent with ANL commitments Ruth Smith & Emily azzopardi stepped up & took control of the goal ring. Very good win which elevated us to top spot. Great effort girls.
